Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- The Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that all 99 Sri Lankans currently in Nepal, including 22 students, are safe despite the ongoing political crisis in the country.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Thushara Rodrigo said the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu is actively monitoring the situation and in touch Sri Lankans through WhatsApp groups and emergency hotlines to ensure their safety.

Amid rising tensions and disruptions to government functions in Nepal, Sri Lankans have been urged to take extra precautions. The embassy has advised them to remain indoors to avoid possible attacks and to keep essential supplies such as water, dry food, and medicines readily available.
