Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- A leak from within the police department itself had interfered in the arrests of alleged criminals in Indonesia.
Police reported that alleged criminals, including 'Backhoe Saman', were tipped off that Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rohan Olugala was travelling to Indonesia to arrest the group.
This reportedly enabled the group, including Kehelbaddara Padme, Commando Salintha, and Kudu Nilanga, to flee their hotel to avoid arrest, police say.
Police have confirmed that information pertaining to an international Red Notice for issued against the group had also been shared with 'Kehelbaddara Padme' by police officials.
