Police inspector remanded for accepting bribe
Sri Lanka, June 23 -- The police inspector arrested by the Bribery Commission for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 million inside a hotel in Kalutara North was remanded until the 3rd of July by Colombo Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva today (23).
An inspector of police named Udaya Kumara, who was attached to the Kalutara South Police Station and performed duties in the Kalutara Special Crimes Investigation Division, was thus remanded.
The Bribery Commission conducted this raid yesterday (22) night based on a complaint made by a businessman to the commission.
