Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Police are failing to enforce the law against false propaganda and defamation carried out by the "Pelawatte Laundry Brigade" via social media, and a visit to Police Headquarters to demand answers will take place soon.

New People's Front leader Sugeeshwara Bandara states that despite numerous complaints, no investigations have begun into social media groups allegedly operating under the guidance of the JVP and NPP.

The police have not yet taken action against the "Pelawatte Laundry Brigade" for spreading false claims that organisers from the SLPP and Sarvajana Balaya removed taps from the renovated Pettah Central Bus Stand, even though two formal complaints were filed.
