Sri Lanka, July 16 -- Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya yesterday (15) met with the current Amir of Qatar to express the condolences of the Sri Lankan government and its people over the demise of the late Father Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

The Prime Minister visited the Lusail Palace in Doha today to express her grief over the passing of the former Amir.

She was received by Qatar's Minister of Interior, His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, before meeting with the Amir of the State of Qatar, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
