Sri Lanka, Aug. 1 -- Prime Minister and Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savitri Paulraj recently participated in an observation tour of a five-year women empowerment project being implemented in the Nuwara Eliya district.
The project is sponsored by the Korea-based Semaul Foundation.
The initiative, which is under the full supervision of the Nuwara Eliya District Secretariat, is reportedly benefiting women from three villages within the Nuwara Eliya Divisional Secretariat: Bambarakele, Shantipura, and Kalapura.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Korean government.
