Sri Lanka, Oct. 14 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya met with President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China today (14) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, during her official visit to China.

The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the further expansion of socio-economic, maritime, and multilateral cooperation between the two nations, and moving forward with major development partnerships by strengthening bilateral cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Prime Minister Dr. Amarasuriya is in China to attend the 2025 Global Leaders' Summit on Women.

During her visit, she also met with the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Li Qiang, in Beijing.
