Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The parliamentary schedule for the 2026 Appropriation Bill has been approved, with the final vote set for December 5.

The schedule was presented by the Prime Minister to the Cabinet and received its consent.

The draft bill was initially approved by the Cabinet on September 8.

According to the finalised programme, the First Reading of the bill will take place on September 26.

The Second Reading and the Budget Speech are scheduled for November 7.

The Second Reading debate will then run from November 8 to the 14.

The Committee Stage debate will begin on November 15 and conclude with the final vote on December 5, 2025.
