Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- The proposal to remove Deshabandu Tennakoon from the post of Inspector General of Police has been passed in Parliament by a majority vote. The vote was held today, the 5th of August, with 177 votes in favour and none against.
The matter was brought to Parliament's attention recently when Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne tabled the report of a committee that investigated Deshabandu Tennakoon. The report found him guilty of the charges against him and unanimously recommended that he be removed from the post of Inspector General of Police.
