Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- The Parliamentary Security Council has decided to reopen the Parliament sports complex for public use.

The decision was announced by National People's Power (NPP) Parliamentarian Asitha Niroshana during a parliamentary session.

The MP stated that the council, which convened today under the leadership of the Speaker, reached a preliminary agreement to allow public access to the grounds, subject to certain conditions.

Additionally, a one-acre plot of land in the Sandun Uyana area of Palawela will also be made available for public use.

The preliminary agreement will be submitted to a subcommittee for further consideration.
