Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala announced that 2,089 illegal firearms have been seized as of July 31.

The Minister made the statement in Parliament today(8) while responding to an oral question. He added that raids targeting illicit drugs have also been expanded.
