Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Member of Parliament for the Colombo District, Mujibur Rahman, has announced that the opposition will begin collecting signatures next week for a No-Confidence Motion against Speaker Jagat Wickramaratne.

Rahman stated that the No-Confidence Motion has been drafted and includes several grounds, notably the Speaker's decision to reject the motion of no-confidence submitted against Deputy Minister of Defence, Aruna Jayasekara.

The MP accused the Speaker of disregarding reports submitted by both the Attorney General and the Parliament Secretariat, which, according to Rahman, indicated there were no legal impediments to proceeding with the motion against the Deputy Minister.
