Sri lanka, Nov. 4 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, who is on an official visit to India, met with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today (4) at the Finance Ministry in New Delhi. The objective of the meeting was to discuss deepening bilateral economic cooperation and regional integration.
The Indian Finance Minister commenced her discussion by appreciating Sri Lanka's natural endowments and human skills. She highlighted the importance of building upon these strengths by closely linking with India's evolving economy.
Stating that Sri Lankan industries could grow rapidly by accessing a large market like India, she also stressed that Sri Lanka's economic sovereignty could be enhanced through strong domestic industries.
