SriLanka, March 31 -- A series of nationwide seminars and legal challenges will target the economic impact of low-quality coal and rising utility prices.
Leaders and representatives from the Joint Opposition reached this decision during a special discussion held yesterday at the Narahenpita residence of former Minister GL Peiris.
Participants focused on the severe damage caused to national electricity production and the economy by inferior coal supplies.
Several party leaders proposed a public awareness campaign regarding the recent hikes in electricity rates and fuel prices, specifically questioning price increases on existing fuel stocks.
