Sri Lanka, Sept. 22 -- Police in Sri Lanka are now strictly enforcing a rule that prohibits anything other than a revenue license from being displayed on a vehicle's windscreen.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manoj Ranagala, the Director of the Police Traffic Control and Road Safety Division, a driver can tint up to one-fifth of the windscreen for sun protection, but no other items are permitted. This includes name boards and official designations, which government officials and other individuals often display.

SSP Ranagala emphasized that this law applies to everyone, regardless of their position, and authorities will take action against anyone who violates the rule.
