Sri Lanka, Aug. 18 -- Colombo District Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) claims that the government is trying to evade the no-confidence motion against the Deputy Minister of Defence by using technicalities, fearing that new information might be revealed during the debate.

Rahman stated that the government lacks the strength to face the debate on this motion.

He warned that if the government prevents the debate from happening, the opposition, led by the SJB, is prepared to take further action.

The motion was brought forward after considering several factors, which the government has not adequately addressed, and instead is trying to avoid the debate.
