Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- President Anura Kumara Disanayake has officially created a new Presidential Task Force to oversee a five-year tourism development strategy for Sri Lanka. The establishment of this group was formalised in an Extraordinary Gazette, number 2450/27, on the 20th of August.

This new task force is mandated to serve as the main body for coordinating and making decisions on tourism development, with the authority to bypass different ministerial jurisdictions. This is intended to increase efficiency and accountability, and ensure prompt delivery of projects.
