Sri Lanka, June 2 -- The newly constructed five-storey maternity and surgical ward complex at the Monaragala District General Hospital is set to be officially opened to the public the day after tomorrow under the patronage of Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The Health Ministry has so far spent over Rs. 857 million on the project.

The ground and first floors of the complex will house maternity wards, while the second and third floors are designated for female surgical wards.

The fourth floor is planned to include four modern operating theatres equipped with advanced medical technology.
