Sri Lanka, July 31 -- The ceremonial welcoming ceremony for the new Chief Justice, Preethi Padman Surasena, was held today (31), at the Supreme Court Complex.

The event saw the participation of judges representing the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, and judges from the High Court, District Courts, and Magistrates' Courts.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena stated that all necessary measures would be taken to enhance the judicial process in a manner that increases public confidence.

He also affirmed that the digitalisation of judicial processes would be accelerated to expedite case processing and provide more efficient services to the public within the judicial system.
