Sri Lanka, July 13 -- The Prisons Department decided to conduct court proceedings of inmates transferred from the Negombo Prison to other prisons via video link if necessary.

A senior spokesman for the department mentioned that future steps will also be taken based on requests made by the court.

With the clash that occurred in the Negombo Prison recently, steps were taken to direct many inmates who were in the prison to other prisons.

Accordingly, nearly another 600 inmates remain in that prison, and they too are scheduled to be directed to other prisons urgently.
