Sri Lanka, Aug. 18 -- The National Police Commission is preparing to make a strong decision regarding a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) whose wife was arrested by Anuradhapura Police in connection with a treasure hunting incident.

The National Police Commission is scheduled to convene this Thursday to consult with the Inspector General of Police and make a decision on the matter.

An investigation into the DIG has also been launched on the orders of IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya.

According to Police Headquarters, the investigation is focusing on whether the DIG had any prior knowledge of the treasure hunting.
