Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- A special National Dengue Prevention Week has been declared, covering 74 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions identified as being at risk of a dengue outbreak, taking into consideration trends in dengue cases reported during the previous outbreak, dengue entomological indices and weather-related changes.

Accordingly, dengue prevention programmes will be implemented from November 9 to 14.

The National Dengue Control Unit has planned the programme in collaboration with other stakeholders, including the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, the Sri Lanka Police, the three armed forces and other voluntary organisations.
