Sri Lanka, July 17 -- The total number of dengue deaths recorded across the island rose to 50, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.

The latest data report released by the unit indicates that the total number of reported patients increased to 73,455.

The National Dengue Control Unit further noted that 18,076 dengue cases were reported within the past few days of this month alone.
