Sri Lanka, Dec. 25 -- The Minister of Health and Media, Dr NalindaJayatissa, has chaired a high-level discussion aimed at expanding and refining the national process for monitoring pharmaceutical standards.

The Health Ministry confirmed that the primary focus of the meeting was to establish a more systematic and rigorous framework for testing the quality of medicines across the country.

Key to the new strategy is the enhancement of coordination between various laboratories tasked with pharmaceutical analysis.

Dr Jayatissa highlighted the need to address persistent issues faced by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) regarding the consistency and oversight of quality reports.
