Sri Lanka, Oct. 28 -- Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa has been elected Vice-Chair of the Fifth Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference (MC-5), which began in Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday (28).

The conference is being held at the United Nations Conference Centre and is jointly organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the Royal Thai Government.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Jayatissa drew attention to the slowing pace of global progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
