Sri Lanka, April 27 -- Parliamentary Member Ramanathan Archchuna was ordered to be held in remand custody until April 29 by the Jaffna Mallakam Magistrate's Court today (27).
This follows an incident where he allegedly used a firearm to threaten and exert criminal force on a woman.
The suspect was arrested after reportedly pointing a gun at a woman in the Periyavilan area of Jaffna.
According to local reports, the confrontation originated from a land dispute where the MP claims ownership of a property that is also being contested by another party.
A case regarding this specific land matter currently remains pending at the Mallakam Court.
