Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Police have reported that a police constable, who recently went missing after allegedly leaving a letter, is accused of defrauding a fellow police officer of over Rs. 3.3 million. The allegation follows a complaint made to the Colombo Fraud Investigation Unit.

The missing officer was identified as Police Constable (PC) P. Kushan Dhananjaya (PC 103375), who had absconded from duty while assigned to the Buildings Division.

The complainant, PC Balasooriya (PC 100132), also attached to the Buildings Division, stated that PC Dhananjaya had requested Rs. 3,325,000, claiming the money was needed for his mother's surgery.

PC Dhananjaya allegedly promised to repay the full amount within a week after completing a land sale. ...
