Sri Lanka, Oct. 12 -- The Department of Meteorology states that many areas across the island can expect showers or thundershowers at various times after 1 PM today (October 12).

In a statement, the department warned of the possibility of fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 50mm, in isolated areas of the Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces.

Furthermore, rain may occur during the morning hours in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts.

The Department of Meteorology also forecasts misty conditions in some parts of the Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces during the early morning hours.
