Sri Lanka, Oct. 19 -- The Department of Meteorology has forecast that thunder showers are likely to occur in seven provinces this afternoon or in the night.

According to the latest weather forecast issued by the Department this afternoon, the rain is expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North Western, Southern, and Northern provinces.

The Department of Meteorology warns that some areas may experience heavy rainfall exceeding 100 millimetres.

Furthermore, the Department advises the public to be vigilant regarding the possibility of temporary strong winds accompanying the rain.
