Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) is warning that Sri Lanka's health sector is on the verge of a major crisis, with over 2,500 specialists and doctors having left the country due to recent economic and political instability.

According to GMOA Secretary Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, the exodus of medical professionals has not slowed down, creating significant challenges in maintaining hospital services and providing adequate healthcare to the public.
