Sri Lanka, June 10 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority has announced new maximum retail prices for locally packaged and bottled drinking water.

The revised prices came into effect today (10).

According to the amended gazette notification, the new maximum prices are as follows:

500 ml - 999 ml bottle: Rs. 80

1 litre - 1.499 litre bottle: Rs. 120

1.5 litre - 1.999 litre bottle: Rs. 150

2 litre - 2.499 litre bottle: Rs. 180

5 litre - 6.999 litre bottle: Rs. 400
