Sri Lanka, July 25 -- Sri Lanka's police, Special Task Force (STF), and tri-forces conducted extensive joint search operations on July 24, apprehending over 2,000 individuals and seizing significant quantities of narcotics as part of ongoing daily efforts against crime and drugs.

The operation on July 24 saw more than 7,100 personnel inspect 25,671 individuals, along with 10,360 vehicles and 7,833 motorcycles. A total of 1,504 individuals were arrested in connection with drug-related offenses.

Authorities seized approximately 809 grams and 160 milligrams of crystal methamphetamine ("ice") and 705 grams and 214 milligrams of heroin during the day's activities.
