Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- A forty-seven-year-old father of three, Ratnayake Bandara, a resident of Pandukabhayapura in Rambewa, was brutally hacked to death with a sharp weapon this morning (1) at the Saliyapura-Mankadawala Junction within the Anuradhapura headquarters police division.

Police investigations revealed that the victim was attacked while returning home after dropping off his daughter at her examination centre to sit for her Advanced Level examinations.

He succumbed to his critical injuries sustained during the assault.

Anuradhapura headquarters police stated that the suspects linked to the murder have already been identified, and operations are currently underway to apprehend them.
