Sri Lanka, April 30 -- A 44-year-old resident of the Sinhapitiya area died last night (29) at the Gampola Hospital after falling from a jackfruit tree, according to the police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man climbed a tree in front of his house to pick a jackfruit.

He fell to the ground during the attempt and succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

The Gampola Police initiated further investigations into the matter following a report received regarding the incident.
