Sri Lanka, Oct. 4 -- One person was arrested for possession of cannabis during a raid conducted by police this morning (04) at a hotel in the Kithulkote area along the Thanamalwila-Wellawaya Road.

Police stated that legal action is also being initiated against three individuals for operating the establishment under unsanitary conditions, following a sudden inspection by officers of the Thanamalwila Police.

During the inspection, officers discovered stale food alongside drinking water that was in an extremely dirty condition. The hotel, which serves as a stopover for long-distance buses, had previously been prosecuted and fined for maintaining unhygienic conditions.
