Main suspect in Mamadala murder case arrested
Sri Lanka, May 22 -- The Ambalantota Police say the main suspect in the incident where a man was beheaded and his head hung on a statue at Mamadala junction in Bokutyaya, Ambalantota, was arrested.
The suspect, arrested last night (21), has been identified as a person known as 'Karune Lokka,' and police say there are several court warrants issued against him in connection with criminal cases.
The victim, who was murdered on the night of the 11th, has been identified as Weerasekara Arachchige Lakmal Sandaruwan of No. 396, Bokutuyaya, Mammadala, Ambalantota.
After killing him, the attackers reportedly placed his severed head on the hands of a statue of Goddess Rathnavali Devi at Mammadala junction, Ambalantota.
