Sri Lanka, May 2 -- All movable and immovable property belonging to the "Mahindananda Foundation," held on a lease basis for nearly 25 years under the name of former minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, returned to the official possession of the Railway Department today.

The foundation previously utilised this valuable commercial land and building complex in Nawalapitiya, which remains the property of the Railway Department.

This step follows a decision made during the District Coordinating Committee meeting last December by Deputy Minister of Transport Prasanna Gunasena and Member of Parliament Thushari Jayasinghe to reclaim the assets for the state.
