Low-pressure zone weakens, showers to continue across island
Sri Lanka, May 17 -- The low-pressure zone located to the north of Sri Lanka is gradually weakening, the Department of Meteorology says.
Due to the influence of this system, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Northern provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, the department states that the sky will remain cloudy.
Furthermore, several spells of showers will occur in the Anuradhapura district, and showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Polonnaruwa district after 1:00 p.m.
