Sri Lanka, Oct. 11 -- The Department of Meteorology forecasts a low-pressure area is likely to form over the south-east Bay of Bengal sea area.

It stated that the low-pressure area will develop by the 13th.

Therefore, showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the sea areas around the island.

The Department of Meteorology requests the fishing and naval communities to pay attention to forecasts, as strong winds between 60 to 70 kilometres per hour can occur in those sea areas during thundershowers.
