Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- Police have discovered a live foreign-made hand grenade at the home of a suspect arrested at Katunayake Airport while attempting to flee the country.
The Jaffna Police made the discovery during further investigations.
The suspect, a 28-year-old from Kokuvil, was arrested on September 23 by Katunayake Airport Police.
He was wanted over a stabbing incident in the Jaffna police division on September 8.
Following his arrest, the suspect was brought to Jaffna, where the grenade, identified as a 'FRAG SFG 87' type, was found hidden on his property.
Jaffna Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
