Sri Lanka, July 25 -- Showers may occur today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Mainly dry weather prevails across the rest of the island.

Fairly strong winds of about 30 to 40 kilometres per hour can be expected at times in the Northern and North Central provinces, as well as in the Hambantota, Trincomalee, and Puttalam districts, the department stated.
