Sri Lanka, April 26 -- The main suspect believed to have organised the foreign trip for 22 individuals in robes apprehended with "Kush" and "Hashish" at BIA is now in custody. Police stated the arrest was made by the Police Narcotics Bureau in the Meehagawatta area of Gampaha.

Authorities suspect the arrested monk acted as the mastermind behind planning and directing the Thailand tour for the 22 other monks who arrived with the narcotics. This follows the initial detention of the group by Police Narcotics Bureau officers at BIA with a drug haul valued at over 1.1 billion rupees.

The narcotics brought by the group arriving from Thailand were found cleverly concealed inside their luggage, according to police reports.
