Sri Lanka, Aug. 8 -- The prices of 10 essential items are reduced by Lanka Sathosa with effect from today (08).

Accordingly, a 1kg of chickpeas will be sold at 327 rupees, a kilogram of garlic at 649 rupees, a kilogram of peanuts at 869 rupees, and a kilogram of big onions at 224 rupees.

The price of a kilogram of green gram is shown as 844 rupees.

A kilogram of local white nadu rice sells at 197 rupees, white raw rice at 187 rupees, red raw rice at 169 rupees, a kilogram of black gram at 864 rupees, and a kilogram of potatoes at 239 rupees.
