Sri Lanka, Sept. 21 -- Mahil Rangajeewa Munasinghe, the Chairman of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha, has passed away this morning at the age of 47.

He reportedly collapsed around 6:00 a.m. while out for a walk and was admitted to the Borakanda Regional Hospital, where he died.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Munasinghe, who was a resident of the Borakanda area, was elected as chairman of the local council under the National People's Power (NPP) party.

His body is currently at the Borakanda Regional Hospital.
