Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Kalutara North Police Station, Chief Inspector Thushara Silva, was seriously injured in a collision last night (23) while on a special operation.

The incident occurred in the Waskaduwa Wadiyamankada area as he was traveling from Panadura towards Kalutara.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Silva was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital after initially being taken to the Kalutara Hospital.

Police have arrested the driver and seized the van involved in the incident.
