Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- A man claiming to be the Kalutara District Organiser for the Ape Jana BalaPakshaya (Our People's Power Party) was rescued from a coconut tree in the Elagahawatta area of Payagala after he fell asleep high up in the tree. The rescue involved officers from the Kalutara Division Traffic Police, Payagala Police, and the Firefighting Unit of the Kalutara Municipal Council.

The incident occurred around 2:00 AM today (09) in the PayagalaElagahawatta area, which falls under the Payagala Police Division.
