Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- An investigation started by the Talawakelle Police seeks to arrest an individual who stole a gold ring worth Rs. 50,000 from a jewellery store in Talawakelle town.

The suspect entered the shop posing as a customer and replaced an authentic ring with a gold-plated brass one.

The theft took place yesterday (24). According to police, the suspect requested to see small gold rings, and while inspecting the stock shown by employees, CCTV footage shows him subtly mixing a brass ring hidden in his right hand with the genuine gold rings.

The individual then left the premises, claiming he could not find a ring that suited him. Store employees discovered the plated brass ring while re-examining the stock after his departure....
