Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- A fine of Rs. 950,000 was imposed on a restaurant located in Jaffna by the Jaffna Magistrate's Court for selling bottled drinking water exceeding the specified maximum retail price.

That was during a raid conducted by the Jaffna District Investigation Officers of the Consumer Affairs Authority.

There, it was revealed that a one-litre bottled drinking water bottle was sold to a consumer for Rs. 200, exceeding the maximum retail price of Rs. 120 set for it.
