Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- Installation of technical equipment has begun under a project to introduce Artificial Intelligence technology to long-distance passenger buses. Coordinated by the National Council for Road Safety, the installation of these technical devices on private buses belonging to the National Transport Commission commenced at Bastian Mawatha in Colombo.

The project aims to ensure the safety of both passengers and drivers. In the initial phase, the equipment will be fitted to 10 buses, and following an evaluation of their performance, the AI technology is scheduled to be rolled out across all buses.
