Sri Lanka, Aug. 1 -- The body of a newborn infant, believed to be a few days old, was found in a train that had travelled from Puttalam to Colombo.

The incident was reported to the Colombo Additional Magistrate's Court by the Dematagoda Police.

The body was discovered today (1) at around 10:46 AM by a railway cleaning employee.

The train, which had run from Puttalam to Maradana, was being cleaned at the Maligawatta railway yard when the employee found the infant's body in a black bag inside a toilet.

The employee immediately filed a complaint with the Dematagoda Police, who have since launched an investigation.
